Tents and villages are the places where these beautiful Kilims and Nomadic carpets are made. The various designs and techniques are specific to different regions. The art of weaving spreads out from Central Anatolia, east across the Caucasus into the Turkmen areas as well as Iran and Afghanistan, and west into the Balkans. Often a Kilim is named after the Nomadic tribe and not according to its place of manufacture.
